Pour in the apple cider, and ring to the boil.
Reduce heat, and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Use a mesh strainer or piece of muslin cloth to decant the spiced cider into heat-proof mugs or glasses, and garnish with a dried apple slice, if desired.
