baked pears
Ingredients
8 large ripe pears, halved lengthways and cored
1 cup / 235 ml orange juice
1 cup / 235 ml boiling water
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp ground allspice
Plain Greek yoghurt, to serve
2 tbsp chopped nuts (e.g., almonds or pistachios)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 6.
In a small jug, mix the honey, orange juice and boiling water together until combined.
Place the pears cut-side up on a small deep roasting tray and drizzle over the honey mixture, turning to coat thoroughly.
Sprinkle over the spices and cook for about 50 minutes, basting regularly throughout.
The pears are ready when they are tender when pierced and turning golden as they caramelise.
Serve hot with natural yoghurt and a sprinkle of chopped nuts.
