More so than just covering oncology costs, we are here to support our members throughout their treatment. If members need additional support we can also organise case management* for peace of mind.

A 52 year-old member is diagnosed with cancer.

The member is confused by this diagnosis. He decides to request our second medical opinion service and unfortunately receives confirmation of the original diagnosis.

The member feels he needs support in this difficult time. He accesses our oncology case management service and is assigned with a case manager.

The case manager (one of our Medical Team professionals) discusses the case with the member and advises on treatment plan and most appropriate hospital to receive treatment.

His case manager liaises with the medical providers to ensure all aspects of upcoming treatment is in place and covered.

The member engages in treatment. He needs to go through many procedures and also surgery.

Throughout treatment, his case manager links with his medical providers on a regular basis to manage ongoing costs of treatment.

The member and his case manager talk periodically to check on treatment progress and to respond to any questions of the member.

In one of the calls, the member mentions that his family may need support to cope with his illness. The case manager suggests that they can access free-of-charge counselling via our Expat Assistance Programme.

The member can focus on his treatment while we take care of all the administration and the financial element of most procedures.
